The Extraordinary Ministers help distribute the Eucharist to the Faithful at Mass. All members must attend a 6 hour Diocesan Training Course. Students who were trained at a Catholic High School need not be retrained. There is a refresher meeting each year.
In addition, some EM’s also bring the Eucharist to those who are unable to attend Mass under the direction of the Pastoral Care Office.
